assessment

This is a simple assessment task and will assess you only on a couple of points.

The main part is to see how good you are at researching on the internet and using ICT to locate, select and organise information from a number of different sources independently. This is Outcome 5.16 in the 1999 Syllabus and 5.8 in the 2003 Syllabus. It is also covered in the Computing Skills assessment No. 1.

The second part is to see how good you are at selecting the right way to write this task (you have been given lots of help here so that should not be any problem at all). This is Outcome 5.18 in the 1999 Syllabus and 5.10 in the 2003 Syllabus. It is also covered in the Computing Skills assessment No. 2.

The third part is the hardest part because the contents of your letter will tell your teacher whether you understood what you were asked to do, whether you understood what you researched and whether you have been able to develop your thinking from the perspective of your character rather than someone already living in Australia. This section is called critical thinking and it is by far the most difficult because you have to think and act outside yourself by removing all your own ideas. You might say that this is a much harder version of empathy. In this letter you have to explain and argue a point of view and this is part of Outcome 5.19 in the 1999 Syllabus and 5.10 in the 2003 Syllabus. It is also covered in the Computing Skills assessment No. 2.
