At the beginning of this WebQuest you were posed some questions. Do you have answers for them now?

Did the Native Americans have a democratic confederacy and a constitution BEFORE the United States of America had theirs?

Did the Native Americans influence the development of the USA Confederacy and Constitution and, therefore, were the real founding fathers of modern democratic America.

If you can answer these two questions then you have completed your research task.

However, think about the following.

You will probably have heard of the French Revolution. This Revolution followed the American Revolution and the French were greatly influenced by the American revolutionaries and adopted a democratic constitution after their revolution.

As Australia took some of its ideas about Federation, Democracy and a Constitution from America and France then that would suggest that we, too, have been influenced by the Six Nations Confederacy of the Iroquois. See if you can find out whether there are some of the ideas of the Six Nations Confederacy included in our Constitution - you may well be surprised by what you find.

You are also to be congratulated for getting through this task and you have learnt about using ICT skills, about selecting information from the internet resources and presenting the information you have found. Well done!
